Longspur Stone is a locally owned and operated family business with 3 generations working in the quarry.
Tony grew up in Makarora and started out as a stonemason at 18 years old in Wanaka. After many years working on various stone jobs and in other Central Otago quarries he procured his own quarry over 20 years ago.
When Longspur Stone was established no one had hydraulic stone cutters, it was all done by hand with a hammer and bolster. Tony and his father (an engineer) set out to make one of the first stone cutters in Central Otago which still pumps out top quality product today.
Tony's son Matt and daughter Jaimie also work alongside him in the quarry. Tony's partner Nicola, will most likely be answering the emails, phone calls, and any of your questions and most importantly placing your order!
Stone is what we do! Contact us today to discuss your requirements and we'll bring your vision to life.
